There are five different ways to access debt advice at BDAC:  a Drop-in session, Appointment, Telephone, Email or through Skype.  Please see below for more details of which service would suit you best.

1) Debt advice Drop-in sessions

If you receive means tested benefits you can attend one of our debt advice drop-in sessions.  These are open at 9:30am every Monday and Tuesday morning. We advise that you arrive early to reduce any waiting time.  We will ask you to complete some forms before being seen by a specialist debt adviser.  BDAC Opening Times.

Below are some answers to questions that we are often asked about the drop-in sessions:

Who can attend?
Drop-in sessions are for new enquiries only (please do not come if you already have an adviser*).
The  Drop-in is restricted for people who are claiming means tested benefits.  If you are not receiving means tested benefits we run an appointment system, please call us on 0117 954 3990 for more information or see below for further details.  Please note that we can only advise on PERSONAL debt. We cannot advise on any business debt issues, even if the business is no longer in existence.

*If  you need to speak with your adviser about your case, please call on 0117 954 3990.

What information do I need to bring to Drop-in?
In order to comply with our funder requirements, we MUST have proof of income for every client we help. This can be a payslip; the most recent benefits statement; or bank statement which details where the income is coming from. If you do not supply proof of your income we will not be able to help you. Please double check that you have the right information by using the checklists below:

Please also bring any up to date correspondence about your debts, for example, statements, balances or letters.
